An overview of recent events and personnel changes in our Benedictine family.

Prompted by recent events, Abbot Primate Jeremias reflects on the papal visit to France and asks himself: What does the principal patron saint of Europe mean for the rest of the world?

Pope Leo’s summer revealed a papal interest in the Benedictine tradition, marked by trips to our oldest monasteries, shared monastic meals, an address to the CIB, and, finally, a generous tribute to “Saint Benedict and his monks” during his visit to France.

Meeting at Sant’Anselmo, delegates voted for new CIB statutes, re-elected Sister Lynn McKenzie OSB as moderator and gathered for the first International Benedictine Women’s Symposium since 2016.
