Sant’Anselmo invites monks and nuns to a transformative three-week sabbatical this July 2026 — Monastic Aggiornamento — a unique program designed for those living a contemplative life yet navigating demanding schedules. Experience the renewal of your monastic vocation through inspiring conferences, meaningful spiritual and intellectual engagement and enriching cultural excursions.

Set within the peaceful Aventine cloister of Sant’Anselmo, Monastic Aggiornamento includes a series of conferences on timely questions that provide both intellectual stimulation and practical ideas, as well as religious, cultural and social experiences.

The journey also offers inspiring visits to Rome’s sacred sites (St. Peter’s Basilica, the Pantheon, San Benedetto a Piscinula), a visit to the monastic community at Saint Paul’s Outside-the-Walls, the Monastery of Saint Benedict in Subiaco, and a special retreat at historic Montecassino Abbey founded by Saint Benedict in 529. Other adventures include a wine tour in Orvieto and a day at Assisi.

The mini-sabbatical blends rest, fellowship and discovery, all included in a comprehensive fee covering accommodation, meals, and activities — from 4 to 24 July. Embrace the gift of renewal and connection in a sacred setting made for growth and inspiration.

This three-week adventure includes a significant amount of walking, so comfortable shoes and dress are encouraged. This program is limited to 20 participants.
