The Abbot and the Monks of the Abbey of the Holy Cross, in Chevetogne, announce with sorrow the passing of Dom Nicolas Egender O.S.B., jubilarian priest-monk, abbot emeritus.
Born in Mulhouse in 1923, professed in 1947, ordained priest in 1950, conventual prior of Chevetogne, 1963–1971, abbot of the Abbey of Dormition in Jerusalem, 1979–1995, passed away in Chevetogne on May 31, 2025.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Latin Church of the Monastery on Thursday, June 5, at 10:30 a.m.
