The Lord God called into his eternal glory Brother Chrysostomus (Arthur) Kaiser OSB on Saturday, 24 May 2025.

Born in 1934 in Hasssenbach, Bad Kissingen, he came to the St. Placidus apprentices home at Münsterschwarzach in 1948 at the age of fourteen to train as a butcher. He made his profession in October 1953. After earning his master’s diploma, he took over the management of the monastery butchery for twenty years. During that time he trained 27 apprentices of his own. He then took on tasks in other areas of the monastery, such as secretary at the Egbert Gymnasium and porter at St. Benedikt in Würzburg.

His confreres say “God bless you,” dear Brother Chrysostomus, “for your positive and friendly nature.” May he rest in peace.
