Dom Frits van Leeuwen OSB was born on 10 January 1931 in The Hague, Netherlands. He professed his monastic vows on 17 October 1952 and lived out his monastic vocation for nearly 67 years. He passed away in the 88th year of his earthly life on 15 September 2019, in Onze-Lieve-Vrouwziekenhuis, Aalst, Belgium, strengthened by the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. A prayer vigil was held in the church of Abdij Affligem on Friday, 20 September 2019, followed by his Funeral Mass on Saturday, 21 September 2019.
