This autumn sees a number of General Chapters. The Congregation of the Annunciation is having its general chapter from September 4 – 11. The venues is Santa Scholastica/Subiaco, a monastery which does not belong to that Congregation but which obviously is a meaningful place for any Benedictine. The election of a new abbot president is expected.

The Missionary Benedictine Sisters of Tutzing begin their chapter on September 29th. It will last for 5 weeks, and there will be the election of a new prioress general. The general chapter will be held, as always, at the general house on the outskirts of Rome.

From 10 – 14 September the abbot presidents of all Benedictine Congregations will meet in Montecassino for their annual gathering, called “the synod”. Monastic Prophecy will be one of the topics treated during that meeting at the other very significant place for all Benedictines.
