On March 15, 2026, at the Abbey of Our Lady of Montserrat in Spain, Dom Joan M. Recasens i Puig returned to the Lord. Born in 1933, he made his monastic profession in 1953, and was ordained a priest in 1959.
Here at Sant’Anselmo he is remembered as the Rector of our basilica from 1985 until 2003. Hundreds, or more likely thousands, of couples celebrated their wedding with him and still recall his kindness and sense of humour.
