Brother Benedikt Morawez was born in the Silesian county of Glatz. Due to war and displacement, he came with his family to the Harz foothills, to Wernigerode.<\/p>\n
Before he was a monk, Benedikt first became a priest in the diocese of Magdeburg. He was stationed in Blankenburg, Dessau, the St. Elisabeth Hospital in Halle, Zeitz and Merseburg. After joining Huysburg, he was a pastor and successor to Brother Paulus Prior. He was involved in the decentralized academic work of the Magdeburg diocese, in which he helped to set up the Albertus-Magnus-Forum Nordharz, a series of lectures in regular rotation. From July 2007 to October 2010 he lived in the Trier convent and worked in the pastoral team of the abbey. As long as his strength allowed, he took part in the taking over of services and in the tours through the monastery and church. Despite some age-related impairments, he continued to attend the community service regularly.<\/p>\n
We hope that Jesus Christ, the incarnate Word of God, will prove to our brother as Savior and Redeemer, as Savior and as the completion of his life. Believing in the resurrection, we trust that Brother Benedict has the abundance of peace that came into the world with the birth of Jesus.<\/p>\n
