Abbot David J. Cyr OSB died peacefully the morning of 21 July in Hospice care at St. Patrick\u2019s Residence in Naperville, Illinois.<\/p>\n

Abbot David, the third Abbot of Marmion Abbey, served as an Instructor, Librarian, Dormitory Prefect, Head of Admissions, Academic Dean and Headmaster at the Academy in the years 1951-1971. As Abbot of Marmion Abbey from 1971-1991, he was President of the Academy.<\/p>\n

The monks received his body on Tuesday, 24 July at 4:00 p.m. Visitation followed until 8:00 p.m., with Vespers at 5:00 and Vigils of the Office of the Dead at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continued on Wednesday, 25 July from 9:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

Let us pray for the peaceful repose of Abbot David\u2019s soul and in thanksgiving for the many years of service and leadership he contributed to Marmion.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
