The much loved author, speaker, and spiritual guide Father Tom Cullinan died on Friday, 18 January 2019.<\/p>\n

Thomas Anthony Cullinan was born on 7 February 1935 in London.\u00a0 After studies in Oxford and time spent in the British Royal Navy, he entered Ampleforth Abbey in 1955 and was ordained a priest in the Benedictine Order in 1965.<\/p>\n

While still a member of the Benedictine Order, for more than 30 years he lived a life of prayer and simplicity at Ince Benet near Liverpool, living off the land through farming, forestry and bookbinding, as well as being a writer, speaker, and spiritual guide. His books included:\u00a0 If the Eye be Sound<\/em>, The Passion of Political Love<\/em>, Mine and Thine<\/em>, Theirs and Ours<\/em>, and Reflections of Another Guilty Bystander<\/em>.<\/p>\n

More recently, he was incardinated into the presbyterate of the Archdiocese of Liverpool.<\/p>\n

A Vigil Mass was held at St. Helen, Crosby UK on\u00a0Thursday 31 January 2019 at 7.00 p.m., with Bishop Tom Williams as Celebrant.\u00a0 The Requiem Eucharist was celebrated at St. Helen, Crosby UK on Friday 1 February 2019 by Archbishop Malcolm McMahon, with homily preached by Passionist Father\u00a0Nicholas Postlethwaite, and subsequent burial at\u00a0Ince Blundell.<\/em><\/p>\n
