Brother Pierre Kabor\u00e9, known as Sawadogo, was born in 1938 in what was then Haute-Volta. At 18, he left for C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire, where encounters with missionaries opened the door to literacy and faith. Baptized at 22, he embraced Christian life with zeal, eventually entering monastic life at Koubri before joining the community of Saint-Beno\u00eet-des-Sources. He arrived there in 1973 and made his solemn profession in 1979, remembered for his lively step and unwavering devotion.<\/p>\n
When the foundation closed, Brother Pierre chose to continue his vocation within the community of Belloc, despite the cultural challenges he faced. A man of deep contemplation, he spent long hours with his rosary and the writings of mystical authors who nourished his spiritual journey. His faith remained his anchor, sustaining him through trials and solitude, and guiding his life in steadfast trust in God\u2019s presence.<\/p>\n
In his later years, as his health declined, he was cared for at the EHPAD of La Bastide-Clairence, near the monastery whose brothers visited him faithfully each week. These visits created warm bonds and brought him comfort in his final months. On March 12, 2026, after a brief hospitalization in Bayonne following pulmonary complications, Brother Pierre peacefully returned to God. He leaves behind the memory of a humble, fervent, and persevering monk.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
