Born in 1935 in the rural quiet of Pernthon, he carried through his long life the memories of a childhood marked by war, hardship, and the strength of a close-knit family. These early experiences shaped his character: humble, hard-working, and deeply rooted in trust in God.<\/p>\n
Entering the monastery in 1958 as a lay brother, he embraced with joy the rhythm of community life. Skilled in manual work and dedicated to service, he became gardener, driver, and later organist, enriching the liturgy with reverence and devotion. His voice and his music accompanied generations of confreres in prayer. Br. Johannes also brought his faith beyond the cloister walls, serving in apostolic movements and guiding countless pilgrims to places of grace such as Lourdes and Medjugorje, even in times of uncertainty.<\/span><\/p>\n In his later years, he remained a quiet but steadfast presence, cultivating relationships with prayer groups and friends through simple means, always attentive to the needs of others. His life was a testimony of fidelity, simplicity, and deep affection for the monastic tradition.
